March 12, 2020, Hockhua Tonic sent our love by giving out thousands of bottles of herbal tea to local healthcare workers. This is in appreciation for their sacrifices and hard work as they continue the fight against COVID-19. Through this charitable action, it is hoped that the “heroes in white” will receive the much-needed moral support they deserve.

1,500 bottles of herbal tea from Hockhua Tonic were delivered to 8 polyclinics under SingHealth. Mr James Teo, General Manager of Hockhua Tonic, said: “At this crucial point in time when the country is concentrating our efforts to fight the epidemic, everyone should play a part. As a tonic brand with over 62 branches islandwide, we hope to contribute and support the selfless dedication of our frontline healthcare workers and staff; at the same time thanking those who work day and night to curb the spread of COVID-19. With our carefully prepared herbal tea, we hope to recharge the energy of our frontline workers."

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, the sales volume of Hockhua herbal tea has increased tremendously. Herbal teas don’t just quench thirst, but also combat heatiness. Because of this, many Chinese herbal medicine inventories are now experiencing a surge in demand.

When the company announced the decision to give out herbal tea to healthcare workers, the initiative was met with great enthusiasm from all Hockhua Tonic employees. In order to ensure sufficient quantities for both healthcare workers and the general public, all relevant departments at Hockhua Tonic worked in tandem to prepare and deliver the drinks on time.

1,500 bottles of herbal tea including chrysanthemum tea, ginseng tea and Chinese barley drinks were delivered to the 8 polyclinics in Bedok, Bukit Merah, Marine Parade, Outram Park, Pasir Ris, Punggol, Sengkang and Tampines. Chrysanthemum clears the eyes, reduces heat and detoxifies; American ginseng nourishes the yin and replenishes energy, calms the mind and boosts brain activities, reduces heat and induces saliva; Chinese barley strengthens the spleen and stomach, nourishes the lungs, clears heat, expels wind and eliminates dampness. We hope that this can provide encouragement and motivation for our frontline healthcare workers.
